How to Use the Niche Outdoors All-in-One Camp Shower

A good camp shower can be an absolute game changer — whether it’s rinsing off salt after a swim, washing the dust off at camp, or just enjoying a hot shower after a long day on the tracks. Our Niche Outdoors All-in-One Camp Shower was designed to be simple, versatile, and easy to use wherever your adventures take you.

Here’s how we set ours up and use it out bush.

1. Setting Up the Shower

One of the best things about this shower is how flexible it is. You’ve got two main setup options, depending on your water source.

Option 1: Inline Water Source (Recommended for Touring Setups)

If you’re running a water bladder or fixed water system, this is the cleanest and easiest option.

  • Use the quick-connect fitting

  • Connect the shower hose straight into your water source (like our water bladders or a hose line)

  • Make sure all connections are secure before turning it on

This setup is ideal for controlled water use and keeps everything neat and tidy around camp.

Option 2: Submersible Filter Setup (Bucket, Lake, Stream, etc.)

If you don’t have a plumbed water source, no worries.

  • Install the submersible filter fitting

  • Drop the filter into your water source — this could be a bucket, jerry, lake, river, or creek

  • Make sure the filter is fully submerged before switching the unit on

This setup is perfect for more remote or minimalist camps. Just keep in mind that if you’re using dirty or high-sediment water, you may need to clean or replace the filter more often.

Cheat code: You can warm up some water on your camp stove or leave a body of water out in the sun for the day to get yourself a convenient hot shower!

2. Using the Camp Shower

Using the shower is super straightforward. The unit has two buttons:

  • Upper button – controls the light

  • Lower button – controls the pump

Each button works the same way:

  • First click – turns it on (low power mode)

  • Second click – switches to high power mode

  • Third click – turns it off

You can run low flow to save water or switch to high flow when you want a bit more pressure.

The shower also has an auto-off safety feature — if it runs dry, it’ll automatically shut down to protect the pump.

The shower head includes a built-in hook, which is perfect for hanging it on a car door, roof rack, tree branch, or shower tent. It also makes hands-free showering easy and keeps things tidy when not in use.

3. Charging the Unit

Charging is done via the supplied USB-C cable, making it easy to top up from a power bank, vehicle, or 12V setup.

The LED indicator keeps things simple:

  • Red flashing light – the unit is charging

  • Green solid light – fully charged and ready to go

To keep the battery healthy, we recommend charging it every few months if it’s been sitting unused.

4. Packing Away & Storage

Once you’re done, packing up is quick and easy.

  • Turn the unit off and disconnect it from the water source

  • Let excess water drain from the hose and shower head

  • Store everything in the supplied mesh storage bag

The mesh bag allows airflow, which helps things dry properly and keeps your gear fresh between trips.
